On 30 December 2016 honorable Prime minister of India Mr.Narendra Modi launches a UPI(Unified payment Interface) based mobile payment App called BHIM (Bharat Interface For Money).The App named after Dr.Bhim Rao Ambedkar .Dr.Ambedkar tirelessly works for the empowerment of poor and Dalits.The main motive behind this App is to make digital transaction safe reliable and convenient to use.
What is BHIM?
BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) is a UPI-based App developed by National Payment Corporation of India(NPCI).BHIM is inter-operable with other UPI application and bank account.It allows you to make money transaction using your mobile phone.Common UPI -based BHIM enables people to send or receive money through your mobile phone
It enables people to send or receive money through your mobile phone by linking your bank account and getting a UPI pin.
Feature of BHIM App
It allows you to send or receive money from another non-UPI account.You can also send money via IFSC and MMID code to the user don’t have a UPI-based bank account.
There is also a provision to send or receive money directly by scanning a QR code.You can also generate your own QR code for a certain amount money and then you can make a transaction.
BHIM is directly linked to your bank account so you do not need to load money in it like wallet such as Paytm
Special Feature of BHIM App
IT does not even require an internet connection so it can also work on a simple feature phone.
The BHIM app work on simple feature phone through an upgraded USSD(Unstructured supplementary Service Data)
How to Install BHIM App
You can find the App in google play.
It is now available in two languages Hindi and English choose the language as you wish.
It will ask to access your SMS and phone status in order to verify mobile number with an account.
NOTE For Andriod OS version less than 5.1.In the case of dual SIM Please use your registered number with a bank account as the primary number.
Once it verified it will ask you to create your own password.
Select your bank from the list of Bank supporting UPI.
For transactions, you need to fill beneficiary details and click on send and you were done.

Charges: There are no transaction charges through BHIM, but your bank may levy a nominal charge as UPI or IMPS transfer fee, which has not been announced so far.
